One of the things that makes Notting Hill so iconic is its beautiful rows of colourful Victorian townhouses. Painted in every shade from soft pastels to vibrant blues, pinks and yellows, these picture-perfect streets have become a favourite with photographers and visitors from around the world.

Westbourne Park Road, where you’ll find The Elgin, is lined with some of Notting Hill’s most colourful houses, making it the perfect place for a leisurely stroll before settling in for seasonal food, great drinks and warm hospitality at the pub.
Film fans won’t want to miss the famous blue door from Notting Hill, the much-loved romantic comedy starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts.
While the original door at 280 Westbourne Park Road has changed over the years, it remains one of the neighbourhood’s most photographed landmarks and a must-visit for visitors exploring the area. Just a short walk from The Elgin, it’s the perfect stop to add to your Notting Hill itinerary.

From our pub, take a left up Westbourne Park Road, home to the famous Blue Door and plenty of colourful houses. A short 1 minute stroll and you’ve hit iconic Portobello Road, one of the most popular street markets in the world.
